>>> THE ANALYSIS OF THE POSITION OF VISUAL ARTISTS IN THE CZECH REPUBLIC

Union of Visual Artists In February 2002, in articulation with the governmental document „Cultural policy“, the UVU CR elaborated its own text „The Analysis of the Position of Visual Artists in the Czech Republic“. In the context of documents by the UNESCO, IAA and individual national IAA organisations, mainly the countries of the Visegrad four (V4 – the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary), we are preparing drafts for legislative and organisational changes. Their aim is to increase the prestige and influence of artists, improve copyright protection, change the procedures in grants bestowing from public sources and broaden the market with artworks (artwork in public space – Act of public commissions). The analysis is available at www.uvucr.cz in Czech and
English versions.
